
Mario Tauchi
Mario Tauchi was born in 1973, from Higashimatsuyama City, Saitama Prefecture.
Graduated from Temple University College of Liberal Arts, Department of English Literature.
While living in Paris, Melbourne, and Philadelphia, he became interested in painting expressions such as fine art, tribal art, and street art. In 2001, when he was a copyright agent for translated publications, he began painting triggered by the terrorist attacks in the United States, and started activities both domestically and internationally. He was in charge of the mural project for "LOVE POP! Keith Haring Exhibition — Art is for Everyone" (Itami City Museum of Art, 2012), and held solo exhibitions at HACO NYC (2019), CADAN Yurakucho (2022), among others. In 2021, he participated in the activities of the art collective Revolú Gallery, which started in New York.

Biography
Since 1998, has been involved as a translation rights agent mainly in the publication of English-language literary works in Japanese, greatly discussing the Japanese debut works of authors such as Jonathan Safran Foer, China Miéville, Azar Nafisi, Julie Otsuka, Mark Z. Danielewski, Michelle Faber, Nicole Krauss, James Frey, Iceberg Slim, Dan Fante, and Neil Strauss. Outside of literature, has been working hard on the translation and publication of the bestseller "Good Luck" (Poplar Publishing / 2014), which sold over 2 million copies.
Started drawing in 2001 while working as a rights agent, and after becoming a freelancer in 2015, has been active as a translator, editor, and writer alongside artistic activities. Works include Barry Schwartz's "Why We Work" (Asahi Publishing / 2017) as a translator, Wang Nan's and Honni Kaeru Project's "Prison Meals" (K&B Publishers / 2024) as a writer, and Lee Do's "If the Weather Is Good, I'll Go" (Achievement Publishing / 2020) as an editor. Released "Genocide".
