One-of-a-kind
Morikazu Kumagai loved plants and cared for the garden flowers with a botanical encyclopedia by Dr. Tomitaro Makino in hand, sometimes taking cuttings or building a greenhouse.
Azaleas were among the flowers blooming in Kumagai’s garden and were a motif the artist loved and repeatedly painted.
