"As Is" series

I have memories of not being allowed to be myself "as is" when I was a child.
As I grew up, I also became aware of the selfishness and arrogance of the existence called "me."

Still, like flowers that are loved just by blooming, I wish to be an existence that is cherished without becoming something or hiding anything.

In this work, the "traces" that wood naturally has, such as grain, knots, and size marks, are perceived like human skin, leaving even the parts one wants to hide as they are.
The flowers blooming on top are both an ideal form and a symbol of "you" and "me" who are here now.

While cursing the "as is," one tries to believe.
This work contains a prayer that despite the conflicts, people are still lovable.
