SHOGEN is a painter who went alone to Africa to learn African art Tingatinga and creates works using only black, white, red, blue, yellow, and green paint. At first, he depicted concrete subjects such as events during his time in the village of Bunju in Africa and children, but now, with the theme of awkward yet comfortable art, he does not decide what to draw. Instead, he paints over the lines accidentally created by the materials placed on the canvas, gradually bringing out the subjects.
SHOGEN, who creates without intention, always thinks about what the work is trying to convey.
He is active both domestically and internationally.
