Trees, where birds rest their wings, are rooted in the earth and connect heaven and earth. Trees are also deeply connected to the world of flamenco, whose main instruments are made from wood. The Spanish phrase "Tocar madera" (touching or hitting wood) has long been known as a charm to ward off bad luck. This time, flamenco dancer Haruhiko Okuhama will perform on cajon and castanets, alongside paintings by Eisuke Ishihara.

It's a nighttime experience that feels like communicating with the heavens in a forest that is actually off-limits. There, microorganisms and all kinds of living creatures are squirming. The sounds of water flowing through Yakusugi cedar trees, which Uemura has recorded all over the world, and the creaking of melting drift ice in Shiretoko, are all joined by brilliantly colored birds flying through the cosmic space created by Kawamura and Sakai. Furthermore, a world is created through the interaction of dancers and artists in this space. Enjoy this one-night-only story that only participants can experience.

Title

Birds Flying Towards Eternity

A drawing from one day. Lines resembling branches and leaves stretched out like the roots of a tree fanning out. Suddenly, a bird appeared, and as I followed it, new birds appeared one after another. The lines, born from the tree of the heart, stretched and connected, becoming the body of a bird. Something that exists in the invisible world has appeared in the visible world. To me, all the lines I draw stretch from this world to the other, and perhaps they are bridges that connect the worlds.
