
Mario Tauchi
Born in 1973. From Higashimatsuyama City, Saitama Prefecture. Graduated from Temple University College of Liberal Arts, Department of English Literature. While living in Paris, Melbourne, and Philadelphia, developed an interest in painting expressions such as fine art, tribal art, and street art. In 2001, when working as a copyright agent for translated publications, began painting triggered by the terrorist attacks in the United States, and started activities both domestically and internationally. In addition to being in charge of the mural project for "LOVE POP! Keith Haring Exhibition — Art is for Everyone" (Itami City Museum of Art, 2012), held solo exhibitions at HACO NYC (2019), CADAN Yurakucho (2022), and others. Participated in the activities of the art collective Revolú Gallery, which started in New York in 2021.

BIOGRAPHY
Since 1998, he has been involved as a translation rights agent mainly in the publication of literary works in Japanese from the English-speaking world, handling the Japanese debut works of authors such as Jonathan Safran Foer, China Miéville, Azar Nafisi, Julie Otsuka, Mark Z. Danielewski, Michelle Faber, Nicole Krauss, James Frey, Iceberg Slim, Dan Fante, and Neil Strauss. Outside of literature, he initiated the translation and publication of the bestseller "Good Luck" (Poplar Publishing / 2014), which sold over 2 million copies. While working as a rights agent, he began drawing in 2001, and after becoming a freelancer in 2015, he has been active as a translator, editor, and writer alongside his artistic activities. His translated works include Jim DeRogatis's "Lester Bangs—The Legendary Rock Critic, His Words and Life" (TONKACHI / 2024), Barry Schwartz's "Why We Work" (Asahi Publishing / 2017), and as a writer, Wang Nan's and Honni Kaeru Project's "Prison Meals" (K&B Publishers / 2024), and as an editor, Lee Do's "If the Weather is Good, I'll Visit" (Achievement Publishing / 2020). Additionally, he will release his first zine, "Stop Genocide (STOP GENOCIDE)," in May 2025.
